Fan Play Live was founded by Somanath Chilukuri with the mission to spread the joy of competitive play among recreational sporting events and enhancing fan experiences at elite professional events.

Somanath spent most of 2023 looking to develop an app using traditional no-code platforms however, he was unable to develop a platform that would handle the volume of real-time interaction required for professional sporting events.

The challenge

Fan Play Live, partnered with Dittofi, to create an engaging, interactive solution for The Wichita Open, a prominent Korn Ferry Tour event. The objective was to redefine the traditional spectator role and achieve unparalleled levels of fan engagement.

The platform was need to securely scale up to handle more than 3,500 real-time interactions from fans who were the guests of The Wichita Open.

The solution

Somanath collaborated with Dittofi on a Dittofi Bootcamp to create the Fan Play Live app, which he called Best Birdies. Best Birdies is an interactive, game-based platform designed to immerse fans in the excitement of The Wichita Open, transforming passive spectators into active participants.

Best Birdies was able to monetize itself by selling in app advert space to local businesses.

The implementation of Best Birdies yielded game-changing results:
